I got some good results yesterday but for the wood I'm using. Not sure what it is, it's a chopping board my wife bought. The engraving was good on one side the the other side was not lasered properly. Upon inspection you can see the wood grain is different on either side of the chopping board. Now we no this we can be more particular about what we can use. Am still looking a for a birch ply supplier in Brisbane. It's not a common thing here and our major hardware store doesn't stock it nor poplar wood either. But I think I have the settings down, may need a tweak for different woods.
