Vector program

Postby banjags » Mon Jan 30, 2017 3:33 pm

Do you offer a program that does vector engraving or can you recommend a good one?

I am currently using the inkscape plug in but when it cuts its pulsing the laser like a dithered image leaving the edges rough. Am I doing something wrong or is this just how it works?

Our image to gcode programs are for raster engraving only.

If your using inkscape to trace an image, you may need to increase the DPI of the image so it does not pixelate. A low DPI resolution causes a Dithered image to have jagged edges from pixelating also.

What inkscape Laser Plugin are you using? J-Tech? https://jtechphotonics.com/?page_id=2012#3

I only use a high end cad/cam program called KeyCreator for generating vector laser cutting gcode files. I can not make any recommendations because of my lack of experience using anything else.

Yes I am using the Jtech plug in. The paths we good. Kinda confused as the why the pulsing was happening. Now I read somewhere else to set the travel and laser speed the same. I will have to try that
