Continuously Jog

Postby Hosoff » Mon Sep 14, 2020 8:33 am

Is there something I’m doing wrong? When I check the box next to continuous Jog my XY movements no longer function. Uncheck the box and they work again.

Continuous jog does not use the set incremental move setting. It is as the name implies, continuous. Just hold the button down to make the axis move, and let up to stop movement.

Thanks, but what I’m saying is it only works on the Z axis. It doesn’t do anything on the X or Y.

Excuse me for being a little confused, but what only works on the Z axis? Continuous jog will work on all three axes. It will ignore increment settings in Z and X/Y.

I’m saying when I try to jog the Z axis moves as you think it would. Continuously until I let go of the button. But the x & y axis don’t move at all. It’s as if they’re locked until I uncheck the box then they move in incremental movements.

Is there some other setting that has to be changed in order for continuous jogging to work?

All you should have to do is check the 'Continuous Jog' box.

Odd you are having this trouble. Maybe something wrong with PicSender install?

Do you have homing and soft limits enabled on your machine? Neither is required for Continuous Jogging, but just helps to prevent slamming accidentally into the end stops.

Can you post your grbl settings here?

What version of PicSender are you using? Ver. 3.4.0 is the latest. Even this should not matter.
Metric or Imperial? I ask so I can try and troubleshoot your issue.

I’m on vet 3.4.0. I just purchased in the past few weeks. I believe I’m using GRBL 1.1. How can I check?

I’m using metric. I can’t seem to add a photo from my phone so I’ll have to post my GRBL settings later.
