Re: Setting up picLaser and j Tech DAC PWM

So far things have been going pretty well. Have had a few odd things to figure out but between Jay and this forum most everything has been solved in a very short time. I dithered this: Welcom Dithered.jpg and then burned it: 1.jpg Seemed pretty dark so I adjusted my beam setting from 0.006 to 0.008 ...

Re: Setting up picLaser and j Tech DAC PWM

Skotty58, Looking at your config file I think you have some pin out conflict going on. Under output signals make a red X in the first Enable1 row. In the motor outputs change the Dir pin from 1 to 16. Now make sure you have the wiring set up correct. Run a ground from the BOB to the DAC and be sure ...

Re: Setting up picLaser and j Tech DAC PWM

Thank you.. i'll get to it and let you know how I make out.. I think the biggest issue with some one new to CNC is that most all the systems are very flexible. More than one possible way to set things up and have it still work. In my case I made no changes to the jumpers on the DAC board. Having a ...

Re: Setting up picLaser and j Tech DAC PWM

so I just did another image test and the result leads to yet another set up question. If A was connected to a motor there is a MACH 3 check box some place for motor direction. Reason I ask is the latest test was a negative image. black parts are white and white parts are black. So changing motor dir...

Re: Setting up picLaser and j Tech DAC PWM

I'll have to check the set up again in PicLaser, So in the G code I should see it as A-.0255 and not A255. That would explain allot.

Re: Setting up picLaser and j Tech DAC PWM

Jeff, OK, I still don't have some thing set up right. I just tried another test, turned the laser on, used the jog key to shut off the laser, zeroed the A axis and ran the image. Looks just as bad as all my others. Some thing I did notice more clearly this time. The bottom section of the image is wh...

Re: Setting up picLaser and j Tech DAC PWM

That's OK. i go through that allot. You have to figure stuff out and once some of the tiny ( but important ) details are figured out, you sort of forget about them. It's not some thing you deal with every time you run it. Hope to do a test today and see if I can burn some thing more impressive looki...
